Pursuing Mass Immunity, UPN Veterans East Java Holds Covid-19 Vaccination, 5000 Doses of Vaccine for the Academic Community

In order to accelerate mass immunity, break the chain of Covid-19 spread and support the government’s vaccination program, UPN Veterans East Java held a Covid-19 Vaccination for the UPN Veterans Family of East Java, Saturday (7/8). A total of 5,000 doses of astrazeneca vaccine were given to 5000 registrants from students, families of lecturers and teaching staff, alumni and residents around Rungkut and Gununganyar.

The vaccination, which took place at the Giriloka multipurpose building, was a collaboration between the Forkopimda of East Java and the Forkopimda of the City of Surabaya, as well as the Head of the East Java Education Office who coordinated communication with universities, which were partners in the accelerated vaccination process.

Rector of UPN Veterans East Java, Prof. Dr. Ir. Akhmad Fauzi, MMT.,IPU conveyed that today’s vaccination was 5000 doses of vaccine, “the target of 5000 vaccine doses is given to the academic community of UPN Veterans East Java. This vaccination is the first step towards herd immunity or mass immunity. Of course, if 60% of the vaccinations have been completed, everything will be back to normal,” said the Chancellor.

The Chancellor added that the implementation of this vaccination was supported by the IT integration system at UPN Veterans East Java. “Starting from registration, preparation of schedules to the process of inputting registration data and printing vaccine cards, all participants use the existing network at UPNVJT, participants from taking queue numbers to printing vaccine cards only takes 15-30 minutes”.

Then, during a vaccination visit at UPN Veterans East Java, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Nico Afinta, East Java Kajati Mohammad Dofir, Kasdam V Brawijaya Brigadier General Agus Setiawan, PLH East Java Provincial Secretary Heru Tjahjono, accompanied by Surabaya Mayor Eri Cahyadi and the Chancellor of the UPN Veterans of East Java said that the acceleration of this vaccination was provided by the Mayor of Surabaya and the vaccines from the Provincial Government of East Java.

“All levels of campuses in Surabaya build extraordinary synergy, support from the East Java Police Chief, from the Military Commander V Brawijaya, this is a form of harmonious relationship,” said Khofifah during a visit to UPN Surabaya.

Khofifah also said that all have the same task, to provide protection to the entire community, including during the covid pandemic like now, to accelerate vaccination.

“During the COVID-19 pandemic, we both invite residents to maintain discipline in health protocols,” he said.

Furthermore, the Governor said. Campuses can immediately conduct face-to-face lectures if their PPKM continues to decline. If level 4 goes down to level 3, goes down to level 2, goes down to level 1, the vaccination goes on, the health protocol works, then face-to-face learning can start, face-to-face lectures can also start, then we can create quality human resources together.
